This privacy policy explains how this website handles any personal data you share with it. The site is a small personal website for the novelist Anne Attias and the data it collects is kept to the minimum needed to run it.
Who runs this website
This website is operated on behalf of the author Anne Attias. If you have a question about how your data is handled, please use the contact form or write directly to the email address you receive once you submit one.
What data we collect
- Contact form submissions. When you fill in the contact form we receive the name, email address, subject line and message you provide, plus the date the form was sent.
- Anonymous usage data. Our hosting provider may log standard request information such as the IP address, the page requested and the browser used. This is used to keep the site running and to spot abuse — it is not used to identify individual readers.
Why we collect it and how long we keep it
Contact form data is collected so that Anne can reply to you. Messages are kept for as long as the conversation needs them — typically no more than two years — and are then deleted. Hosting log data is generally kept for a short period (a matter of weeks) by the hosting provider.
Who we share it with
Your data is not sold, rented or shared with marketers. The contact form is processed through our hosting provider, which means a brief technical copy of your message passes through their systems on the way to Anne’s inbox. Beyond that, your details stay with Anne.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, and to object to the way it is used. To exercise any of these rights, please write via the contact page.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
This website is intended for an adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we need to update this policy, the new version will replace this page and the “last updated” date will change.
